oh hellouni is great, life in general is mostly good, that's probably why I've had nothing to write about in a blog
as you may have noticed from said photos, I bought a turntable + mixer this week, which is something I've been meaning to do for ages but until this week have not had the money for. With about $500 to spend I went for a good compromise between value and quality, so it's a good beginner set, I think. I'm not very good but I'll learn, and I'm looking forward to getting the 2nd. I need to practice my scratching though, I can't make the record sing the way I want it to yet, not even remotely close, but baby steps (and scratches
). If nothing else, it's great to be able to play music from a record, it feels so warm and inviting and organic, it's great, especially when it's loud. I'm not going to disown CDs bu this is a fantastic alternative. The fact that the music needs constant attention, ie turning the record over to play the b-side, gets you more involved with the listening process, it's good stuff.
